2. Equivalent System Concept
Tooth mesh loss of a pair of gears in a planetary train depends upon
the same factors as for pair of gears with fixed centers. Here, also, it can
be assumed that the loss in engagement is proportional to the product of
the tangential force at the pitch circle of the driving gear and the
