One of the most worst days of my life was when we
returned from holiday on summer to find that
our house had been burgled. The place it was a
mess. The burglars had been stolen the TV, the video
recorder, the stereo and all lot of our records and CDs.
All the drawers had been emptied and their contents
thrown around the room. We phoned the police, who
sent two their officers around very quickly. They looked
at the mess, and asked about a few questions. I asked
them if they were going to check for fingerprints, but they
said there was no point. They told to us that it was very
unlikely that the burglars would be caught anyway.
We all felt very angry and confused. At the least we
were insured, which had meant that we were able to
replace nearly everything of that had been stolen. But we
couldn’t replace the feeling of security that we had
before the burglary happened us. Even today, one year
later, we still worry that it may happen again.
