AIMS OF THE COURSE:
To teach the students
- basic concepts and categories of the world economic system and international economic
ties and relations;
- basic categories, terms and definitions of the European economic and monetary union;
- European economy and national economic systems;
- peculiarities of the formation of the European market;
- reasons for creation of the universal currency system and tendencies in its formation;
- bank systems, the role and peculiarities of financial relations in the European
community;
- world economic systems and the European Union, the place of the European Union in
the world economy;
- the influence of the countries – members of the European Union on the economic
development of Kaliningrad oblast;
- peculiarities of the international relations between the European Union and the leaders of
the world economy;
- globalism as the main tendency in the world economy and the global economic problems
of Europe at the end of the XXth century.
Theme 1 The subject, aims and goals of the course. The economical aspects of the creation
of economic communities (8 hours: lectures – 4hs, self-study – 4 hs).
