      costliness (n) - дорогая цена, дороговизна: This necklace looks ugly. I
don't understand the costliness.
      at all costs - любой ценой: You should achieve you lifetime dream at all
costs.
      at one's cost - за чей-либо счет: She always succeeds but unfortunately
at my cost.
      to count the cost - взвесить все обстоятельства: Before taking it up you
should count the cost.
      5. court (n) - 1) двор: I liked the house because it had a nice court. 2) двор
(короля): The main obligation of my husband is to hold a court. 3) суд: Don't talk
to him - go straight to court. 4) ухаживание: She chose Tom because she liked
his court.
      court (v) - 1) ухаживать: She broke up with her groom because he began
courting her best friend. 2) льстить: Don't court me. I know my faults.
3) добиваться: After the speech he courted applause. 4) соблазнять (into, to,
from): I am an honest person. Don't court me into the theft.
      courtesy (n) - учтивость, вежливость: Courtesy won everyone's appraisal.
      courtier (n) - придворный: As a courtier you can't behave like that.
      to make court to somebody - ухаживать за кем-либо.
      to court disaster - накликать беду.
      6. experience (n) – 1) жизненный опыт: This mechanism will never work. I
know it by (from) my own experience. 2) переживание: No experience about the
disaster, please. 3) случай: It was such an unpleasant experience that we didn’t
remember it. 4) квалификация, мастерство:To fulfill this task you must have a
lot of experience.
      experience (v) - испытывать, знать по опыту: It was a disaster. I’d never
like to experience it once more.
      experienced (part) –опытный: I won’t employ him. He isn’t experienced
enough.
      7. eye (n) – 1) глаз, зрение: I am so happy to see these beautiful eyes.
2) взгляд: He is so stupid. Look at this blank eye. 3) ушко (иголки): She couldn’t
thread a needle because the eye was too small. 4) осведомитель: He was killed
because the gangsters considered him an eye. to keep an eye on smb. – смот-
реть, следить за кем-либо: Cook asked me to keep an eye on the meat while
she was away. to open one’s eye on smb, smth – открыть глаза на что-либо:
His words opened my eyes to their relations. to make eyes at smb. – строить
глазки: Nobody saw her making eyes at other men. to see eye to eye with smb.
– совпадать во мнении: I regret I don’t see eye to eye with you on that subject.
      eye (v) – смотреть: He eyed all people with suspicion.
      8. opt (v) - выбирать: I see you hesitation, but I understand that you'd like
to opt for the best.
      option (n) - выбор, право выбора или замены: I have no option but to fire him.
      optional (a) - необязательный, факультативный: English is an optional
subject.
      9. trust (n) - 1) доверие, вера: To have good relationships you should
have trust in him. 2) ответственность: You should answer for breach of my
trust. 3) надежда: He puts trust in future. 4) кредит: Our shop supplied goods
on trust. 5) опека: Now I have my son's property in trust. 6) имущество,
