     In favour:

writing a report to the Managing Director explaining the reasons why
the first half of the year has been unhappy.
     e. g. We would have sold 3.000 cars if we hadn’t had a strike.
      January — strike
     February — shortage of raw materials
        March — price rise
         April — inceased competition from Japan
