1. The woman standing at the Женщина , стоящая у окна, моя

standing – Participle I, определение .
2. When crossing the street, first Переходя улицу, посмотрите
look to the left. сначала налево.
(When) crossing - Participle I, обстоятельство.
3. When asked about it, he didn’t Когда его спросили об этом ,
answer. он не ответил.
(When) asked – Past Participle II, обстоятельство.
КОНТРОЛЬНОЕ ЗАДАНИЕ № 3
I. Перепишите следующие предложения; подчеркните в каждом из них
глагол- сказуемое и определите его видо- временную форму и залог .
Переведите предложения на русский язык. Обратите внимание на перевод
пассивных конструкций.
1. They were the grandchildren of Vikings who had captured and settled
northern France.
2. When he appeared in the box, the audience greeted him with a storm
applause and the performance was interrupted for a moment.
3. Houses are built very quickly now.
4. They have already made a decision.
5. The work must be done at once.
6. I have asked him for dinner several times.
II. Перепишите следующие предложения; подчеркните Participle I и
Participle II и установите функции каждого из них , т.е. укажите , является ли оно
определением, обстоятельством или частью глагола- сказуемого. Переведите
предложения на русский язык.
1. French became the language of the country’s ruling class for several
hundred years.
2. By the end of the fourteenth century English was once again a written
language.
3. He noiselessly opened the door, and approaching the President, calmly
took aim and fired.
4. He got outside where his horse was waiting for him.
5. The question discussed at a meeting was very important.
6. Not knowing his address I couldn’t visit him.
