Milly: No, it was made for my birthday last year.
Mary: The dress was evidently made by a very talented dressmaker.
Milly: Oh, yes, Mrs Brand is a magician indeed.
Mary: Well, Milly, who recommended Mrs Brand to you?
Milly: Mrs Brand makes dresses for the most fashionable ladies. That's why
I was recommended to her, not she to me. My aunt Kate did me such a favour as
a present for my birthday.
Mary: Oh, Milly, will you recommend me to Mrs Brand?
Milly: Don't ask me about it, Mary. Aunt Kate will never forgive me this.
