Carry on _____ the road ______ Portsmouth until you go ________ a steep hill.
Take the turning _______ the left at the bottom of the hill – there’s a pub called
“The Green Man” on the right just before the turning. The road winds________
a small village, ________ a bridge ________ a river and then __________ a
railway. Just after the railway bridge the road forks; take the left hand fork. Af-
ter about a mile you’ll drive ________ a wood, and as you come _________ the
wood, turn right and go ________ the hill to Harpole. Manor Road is the second
turning on the left, and our house is at the end on the right. You’ll see my car,
the dark blue Rover, parked outside.
3. Listen to the conversation again and check up your answers.
4. Give each other detailed directions to get to your house from the place you
work or study, and take notes.
