1. Значение.
Действие, которое длилось на протяжении определенного промежутка
времени в прошлом.
He was reading a book from 7 till 9 p.m. yesterday.

2. Образование.

She was working the whole day yesterday.
O → Was she working the whole day yesterday?
P → She was working the whole day yesterday, wasn’t she?
A → Was she working or resting the whole day yesterday?
C → Who was working the whole day yesterday?
      What was she doing the whole day yesterday?
      How long was she working yesterday?
