"As soon as Bella saw the drawing
brother had worked on, she said,
"That looks like Ned Chute."
Carly was not surprised. She had expected that Bella would see the resemblance.
What did surprise her was

at the Chutes. "Listen," Carly said, "I don't doubt that the Chutes have some sort of
trouble and that one person causing some of the trouble might be related to Ned
Chute, but I do doubt that any of the mess will spill over onto Copter. I know you're
responsible for taking care of him, but I really think it would be terrible to keep him
from going there and seeing his friend."
"That may be right," Bella agreed, "but it's pretty sad that the Chutes are still
feigning ignorance. We should confront them."
"That wouldn't work," Carly said. "The best thing to do now is let Copter play with
his friend here and there while I keep trying to find the fat guy. The girl in the pickup
truck called him Randy. If she was talking about the right person, we have his first
name. We'll get his last name, too, and while we're doing our work, the Chutes may
have a change of heart."
What in your opinion is meant by "a change of heart"?
