"As for Ned, it had taken him a long while to get over his guilt about the
accident. He even had to seek psychological assistance and therapy in the process. In
the last year or so Wilbur had started to ask Ned for money. Ned gave him the
money, but Wilbur wanted more than that. He wanted Ned to feel guilty and even
told him so. Ned knew there was nothing to be gained from falling victim to guilt, but
lately he had been struggling with the feeling and being attacked by his own nephew
had sent him over the edge."
As you see, both men, Wilbur and Ned, were the victims of the accident. Did they
take the consequences of it each by his own way?

go over the passage below and answer one more question. While reading
the passage, pay special attention to grammar cases on Conditionals, Complex
Object, Modal Verbs and Sequence of Tenses.
"...the last time I saw Wilbur, or maybe it was the time before that, he said he was
hoping to see the day when I had someone I loved taken away from me. He said if I
had to go a few days without that person,

that I loved my sister, he just walked away."
"Why did he take the boys?" Nancy said. "He could have taken me."
"I suppose he wanted you to suffer, too," Ned replied, "but that doesn't explain
why he took Copter."
"And I'm not sure we should waste any time trying to think of any explanation,"
Carly added. "What we need to decide on is a course of action. I'm trying to keep all
of this from Ruth, but that can't be out key consideration."
