spirit that day.
Now we live far from home, that is why we are often sad, when we remember our parents, brothers and sisters. In difficult min-
utes our friends help us very much. From your letter I understood, that now you have many good friends. You try to be together and
help each other.
I have friends too. Students study from China and Ecuador in our group. I have got to know them here, in Russia. It is necessary
to say, that they are friendly and sympathetic people. If somebody among our friends is ill, we always come to see him, bring some
food products, tell the news, help to do homework.
Write me, Allan. I am waiting for your letters very much. Tell me more about your friends, who study in the group with you.

On Saturday evening we were to go to the theatre. The performance began at 6.30. We left the house at 5 o’clock, because we
knew how much time it took us to get to the theatre. We came to the bus stop and began to wait for the bus. Here is our bus. We took
the bus. In 15 minutes we got to the Metro station. We left the bus and entered the Metro.
When we got to the theatre, we could see that there was nobody neat the theatre. We understood that we had come very early.
But we entered the theatre, took off our clothes and went to the bar to drink coffee.

One day a sick man came to consult the doctor.
– Doctor, I have a stomachache, but I don’t know the reason.
– Have you eaten anything this morning?
– No, I have eaten nothing.
– What did you eat yesterday?
– I ate some green fruits.
– Here’s the recipe for the medicine. Drop this medicine into your eyes in the morning and in the evening.
– Why is this medicine for me? You see, I have a stomachache, but not ache of my eyes.
– In order you should see better what you will eat next time.

Yesteday I had my birthday. Someone likes to celebrate his birthday, but somebody does not do it.
I always liked this day. I remember how at home all my relatives and friends congratulated me on that day. In the morning on
the table near my bed there were always some presents from my parents and my brother. Last year my mother and father presented
me with a football ball, and my brother gave me some cassettes. This year I do not celebrate my birthday at home, I celebrate it in
Russia, where I study now. Of course, I am sad a little, but in the evening my friends will come to see me.
We shall dance and sing. The girls will cook some tasty dishes. I will buy a cake and some fruits. I am sure that it will be very
funny. When a person has good friends, he is not sad.

A football player’s mother says to her husband, who has just come back home from his work:
– I have just received a telegram from our son. During the match he fell and broke his leg.
– And who is the winner?
– He doesn’t inform us about it.
– Oh! This egoist thinks only about himself and I will have to wait for tomorrow to know about the results of the match from a
newspaper.
