Modernized Trains for Australia’s Second New Airport Railway
Australia is a large continent between the Indian Ocean and the southern Pacific
Ocean; it is both a country and a continent. The capital is Canberra. Australia is divided
into states.
Australia’s second new airport railway was opened for regular traffic in May. It
links Brisbane with the two terminals of the Queensland capital’s major airport.
The 8,5km Brisbane Airport Rail Link was built by the private consortium Airtrain
Citylink.
One of the leading rolling stock manufacturers, the Walker-Adtranz company
received a $A 38 million QR rolling stock order to design and produce trains for this line
called Interurban Multiple units – IMU 120 series.
