I’m really thankful to my dear friends of yore: Miss May, Tina and
Tamilla as well as R.V.Volkova, PhD, my great friend from Vologda for their
devotion and support! Time is really flying, but I do remember all of them!
I am also thankful to my former top student Oleg A. Wahl, a great
translator of Jim Rohn’s books on Business Philosophy, for his kind
invitation to visit Jerusalem, a city of my dreams, where I did pray in ENE
"Our Father"with American students Monica and Seon. It was awesome!
We’d love to record our gratitude to our best friends from different
States of America when they visited Russia in 1978, 1985, 1992, 1995 and
became honorable members of our
"The Stars & Stripes" club of the
UlSPU and then they also sent us books, CDs & poems we appreciated
highly: to famous Douglas & Susan Ballinger (CA), to our great friends,
famous designers & singers Edwina & Jason G. Johnston (OK), introduced
to me and to L.V. and A.A. Obvintsevs, our celebrated artists by my
devoted friend V.I.Murenko, PhD, to the outstanding poet Fred D. Mac
Leod & Cynthia MacLeod the Teacher of the Year from Portland, Oregon,
to cute & generous Ann W. Ritter (MO), to great Pamela McDonald &
Robert (CA), to Steve Shelton, to Scott Justesen (from Utah), who taught
our students in 2000, and to Michael Read (TX) for his useful recordings
about different dialects of English, to Michael Young (VA)& Cathie (CA),
for their wonderful recordings, to great Celine Cloose& Julia, to generous
& cute Judith Ventura & other students from (PA) who recorded a lot of
dialogs & sang songs, and of course to my dear Tutor and great Friend
Marjorie O. Nicol who taught us the peculiarities of American English in
Moscow in 1988 & with whom we met in 1990& 1991 in Moscow to
greet her Russian friends , the brave Soviet pilots!
We are lucky to have a lot of former top students such as
J.A. Lamzina and M.V. Sosnina, E.V.Ermolayeva and O.V. Dmitrieva,
A.A.Koslova and S.Sh. Nurulova, PhD, our good collaborators, who were
taught by the best teachers of English, the honorable teachers of the
Russian Federation: O.A.Akatyeva, N.V.Pavlova, V.B.Sergeevich
(Gymnazium One) and G.G. Listarova (Lyceum Two).
I would like to express my gratitude to the Department of "Foreign
