automatically centered in neutral, to
ensure that the driver will never be
in doubt as to the actual position of
the gear lever. The pattern of gear-
shifting is designed so that reverse
gear cannot be engaged by mistake.
Reverse gear is provided with a
latch and it has a separate gate to the
right of the 5
th
