      6. keep (v) - 1) держать: You may keep the book for a month. 2) хранить:
You should keep this thing, you will get a new one not soon. 3) соблюдать: I
don’t trust her. She never keeps her word. 4) содержать: She must keep the
whole family. 5) скрывать, утаивать: You are keeping smth from me.
6) охранять, защищать: We should keep the town against the enemy. to keep
at – делать что-либо с упорством; to keep back – держаться в стороне; to
keep from – удерживаться от чего-либо; to keep on – продолжать делать
что-либо; to keep up – содержать.
      keep (n) – 1) содержание, пища: to earn one’s keep.
      keeper (n) - 1) хранитель, смотритель: To buy this picture you should find
a keeper of it first of all. 2) владелец: The keeper of this café is very rich.
      7. pity (n) - 1) жалость, сострадание: He looks so miserable. Take pity on
him and don't force him out. 2) печальный факт: It's a pity that no one came to
the party.
      pity (v) - жалеть: He is in no mood to be pitied.
      8. turn (n) – 1) поворот: You need the second turn. 2) изгиб: Go to the turn
of the river – we will have a picnic there. 3) перемена: He hopes for a change in
his luck. 4) способность, стиль, манера: She has a turn for music. 5) очередь:
You should wait your turn.
      turn (v) – 1) вращаться: The toy is turning quickly. 2) поворачиваться:
Turn back and see her. 3) направить, сосредоточить: She turned the hose
on the fire. 4) превращать, меняться: She is turning into a crazy lady. to
turn away – отворачиваться, отклонять, to turn down – отвергать пред-
ложение, to turn up – появиться внезапно, to turn on – зависеть от чего-
либо.
