     3. That's changing, of course. Nowadays women are coming into their own
power in business and as entrepreneurs. Today nearly half of all business degrees
awarded in the USA are being earned by women and over two hundred colleges
and universities are offering courses in entrepreneurship. Statistic estimates that
by the year 2000, 50 percent of all small businesses will be owned by women.
     4. It takes time to get a business on its feet. The more you plan before you
open your door for business, the more successful you and your business will be.
It is necessary to learn all about the business, analyze the product or service.
What is the demand for it? Who are the customers? To what extent is the business
affected by the overall economy? A woman usually starts a smaller business than
a man because she tries to balance work and family.
     But women cоmе to business with real enthusiasm and they are not afraid to
ask questions. A woman with a sound business idea and a willingness to work
hard can be successful. And she has the freedom to decide whether to keep her
enterprise small or grow it big.
     5. Few businesses make money right away. If you have your own source of
income, you'11 have to be willing to modify your lifestyle. Until you can take a
steady benefit, you'll be living off the fraction of your savings, you haven't in-
vested in the business. If you don't have to worry about supporting yourself with
your own income, so much the better.
     6. The factors that determine the difference between success and failure are in
this order: mоneу, motivation, determination, expertise in a particular field, ac-
cess to expert advice and time - which brings one back to money.
     It takes money to buy that time.
