САМОСТОЯТЕЛЬНЫЙ ИНФИНИТИВНЫЙ ОБОРОТ
ABSOLUTE INFINITIVE CONSTRUCTION
В английском языке встречается оборот, состоящий из существительного в общем падеже и инфинитива.
Существительное в таком обороте обозначает лицо или предмет, совершающий действие, выраженное инфини-
тивом, или подвергающийся этому действию. Этот оборот носит название "самостоятельного инфинитивного
оборота" (Absolute Infinitive Construction). Такой оборот стоит в конце предложения и отделен запятой. Он
переводится на русский язык предложением с союзом причем, в котором глагол выражает долженствование.
Самостоятельный инфинитивный оборот встречается в юридических текстах и в коммерческих документах.
The sellers offered the buyers 5,000
tons of gas oil, delivery to be made
in October.
Продавцы предложили покупате-
лям 5000 тонн газойля, причем
сдача должна была быть произве-
дена в октябре.
The buyers requested the sellers to
keep them informed of the position
of the vessel, the communications to
be addressed to their agents.
Покупатели просили продавцов
держать их в курсе местонахож-
дения судна, причем сообщения
должны были направляться их
агентам.
