Eric Bernat bought a troubled Spanish confectioner in the 1950s. He
1believed in the importance of creating one brand and knew that success ulti-

trate on building one truly global product – a lollipop, or 'candy on a stick'. This
innovative product allowed children to eat candy without getting their hands
and clothes dirty. Suddenly Eric Bernat was on the way to becoming the
