How the fuel injection system works.
The intake manifold is equipped with one injection valve for every cylinder. The
injection valve is fitted upstream of the corresponding intake valve and is controlled
electromagnetically by signals from the electronic control unit. The control unit
calculates the opening time for the injection valve to suit the engine running
conditions, so that the quantity of fuel injected will be correct in relation to the
quantity of air flowing to the engine.
Exercise 11. Speak about the fuel injection using the following words.
Fuel injection system, atmospheric pressure, ambient temperature, fuel/air ratio,
air flow meter, air mass meter, to sense, engine, speed temperature, automatic idling
control, air conditioning, power streering.
