   быть чугунными с твердостью по Бринелю 180 единиц. 4. Нам нужно отлить и
   обработать несколько цилиндровых втулок и поршневых колец. 5. Нужно
   будет перезалить баббиток и расточить рамовые подшипники. 6. Необходимо
   проверить ультразвуком головки поршней. 7. При обнаружении трещины в
   головке поршня их следует заварить.

                               Drydocking and Repairs

       Dear Sirs,
       In compliance with our schedule of sailing we expect to arrive at your port by the
end of this month and to stay there for a week’s time.
       We should like to approach you with a request. We want to have some repairs
made to our machinery. In this connection we wish you to contact a local repairing
plant or shipyard and to let us know whether they can execute the following repairs.
1) Main bearings, crankpin bearings and crosshead bearings ( 12 sets altogether) of our
   main diesel-engine ( B and W type) to be rebabbitted, bored to correct size and
   fitted.
2) 100 piston rings of perlite iron to be cast and machined to outside diameter of 860
   mm, inside diameter 820 mm, 12 mm thick.
3) 10 atomizers for the main engine injection valves to be made as per drawing № 4
   herein enclosed.
4) A copper pipe O.D. 70 mm, 4 metres in length, with two flanges of 250 mm outside
   diameter, to be supplied and fitted into position.
5) Crankpins and journals of the crankshaft to be inspected and, if necessary, set in
   order.
   We shall be glad to hear from you at your earliest convenience.
