      Упражнение 1. Определите форму и функцию причастий, переведите предложения.

      Причастия I и II с пояснительными словами образуют причастный оборот, который
соответствует русскому причастному или деепричастному оборотам или придаточному
предложению:
      e. g. Having successfully solved the problem, the scientists could work out a new method.
      a)       Успешно решив эту задачу, ученые смогли разработать новый метод.
      b)       После того, как ученые успешно решили эту задачу, они смогли разработать
новый метод.
