слабеть, переставать действовать) и существительное failure – неудача, неуспех, провал
(недостаток, невыполнение, несостоятельность, отказ в работе). Перевод этих слов требует
учета данного контекста и соответствующих замен и перестановок.
      e. g. In this study, the softer materials tended to fail cohesively.
      В настоящем исследовании более мягкие материалы имели тенденцию к слабой когезии.
      e. g. Other studies failed to establish real clinical benefits.
      В ходе других исследований не удалось установить реальных клинических результатов.
      e. g. Persistent chronic infection develops in approximately 85 per cent of those infected, due to
failure of the immune response to neutralize the virus.
