Примерно у 85 % инфицированных развивается стойкая хроническая инфекция из-за
недостатка иммунного ответа для нейтрализации вируса.
Упражнение 2. Проанализируйте и переведите предложения.
1. The other plasticised acrylic, Soften, had a similar hardness and low possibility of cohesive
failure.
2. Soften’s adhesive failure and low bond strength indicate its bonding property is worse than
Super-soft.
3. The shear bond strength test was performed at room temperature within 4 h after
polymerization. A testing machine was used at a crosshead speed of 60 mm/min. The failure modes
were examined visually and recorded as either cohesive failure (rupture within lining material),
adhesive failure (debonding at the interface of denture base and lining material), or mixed type
(combination of the two).
4. The humoral (antibody) response mounted against HCV fails to recognize the sequential
changes in the virus throughout the course of infection and previously generated antibodies fail to
neutralise the mutants.
5. So much can be learnt from a systemic examination of the existing dentures and yet so often
they are completely ignored in diagnosis and treatment planning. It is usual to divide previous dentures
into two categories – those that have proved successful and those that have failed.
6. When the lower denture comes into contact with the upper, premature contacts may be seen
which affect both the stability and the comfort of the dentures. These have often arisen from the
difficulty of getting the patient relaxed before recording the horizontal jaw relation, with the result that
there has been a failure to register the muscular position of the mandible.
7. An anterior crossbite may result from the prolonged retention of a primary incisor (possibly a
non-vital tooth that has failed to undergo root resorption) and the subsequent lingual deflection of the
permanent tooth.
8. Supernumerary teeth can prevent the eruption of upper central incisor teeth. Another reason
these teeth may fail to erupt is that the developing tooth is dilacerated.
9. Trauma to the primary upper incisors can cause their impaction; the primary teeth are driven up
into the gum and displace the calcified crown of the developing permanent incisor, producing an angle
between the crown of the tooth and its root, which continues to develop in its original position. The
permanent tooth then fails to erupt.
10. Hypodontia, when one or more of the teeth fails to develop, is a relatively common condition
which is almost certainly hereditary in origin; as such, there is little scope for prevention.
