                                           2.5.    СОКРАЩЕНИЯ
      Сокращения, часто встречающиеся в научном тексте, являются средством, повышающим
уровень     плотности     когнитивной      информации.       Широко      представлены      специальные
терминологические сокращения, встречаются и общеупотребительные. Часто употребляемые и
традиционные сокращения-термины даются в словарях и передаются уже принятым
сокращением.
      Встречаются и сокращения, отсутствующие в специальном словаре. Если такое
сокращение относится к узкой области знаний или малоупотребительно, в начале работы или в
конце ее можно встретить расшифровку. Если таковой нет, то переводящему необходимо
расшифровать такое сокращение, опираясь на контекст, и дать как полный вариант, так и
сокращенный. Рекомендуется придерживаться типа сокращения в подлиннике: если в
оригинале в тексте сокращение дается по начальным буквам (акроним), то давать такой же
вариант в переводе, если сложносокращенное слово, то стараться придерживаться такого же
варианта.
